TinyDouche

The guys over at TinyGrab are running a clinic on how not to handle a crisis. (TinyGrab is a simple service that lets you instantly share screenshots). Ever since their product shit the bed I’ve been checking in on their blog to see what’s up. This gem:

‘Sorry.’

I’m hesitant to apologise for the dip in service. I want to be clear: I’ve done nothing wrong, and nor have our developers. This could not have been prevented, and there was simply no other way of going about it. We are proud of TinyGrab 2.0 and will always stand by it.

When your service goes down for weeks and many of your users can’t even log in anymore and your Mac app loses 90% of its functionality, guess what? Someone fucked up. You gotta own that. I don’t care how good your intentions were, someone fucked up. And denying that is pretty shocking.

Besides, it was CodeIgniter that originally caused the problems. You didn’t hear that from me.

And why not throw another company under the bus while you’re at it? Stay classy, TinyGrab.

A little known fact about TinyGrab is that we do not design, build or maintain TinyGrab for financial gain.

Another little known fact is that TinyGrab does charge for their premium service. So actually yeah, it is for financial gain. And maybe if you realized, yes, you are actually running a business and you actually need to make a profit you’d own your mistakes and maybe provide a great product instead of lame excuses.

Instead of trying to figure out what the hell is going on with this clueless company, I just deleted TinyGrab and created a CloudApp account instead.
