Every time I want to write about Counting Crows I feel the need to excuse it in some way. I don’t have any regrets about the degree to which I did/still do love the Counting Crows. They held such a special place in my life from the years ‘93 to ‘99 that it’ll never leave me. A new Crows album is still an automatic purchase and hell, I might even pick it up on compact disc for ol’ times sake.

I know admitting this doesn’t give me much “cred” but that’s fine. Sometimes I just want to feel it, and that’s where Duritz excels. I have a feeling there’s a lot of closet Counting Crows fans out there, who will be promptly buying this double album on March 25th.

2 Free MP3s on cc.com (Which I’ll be skipping, I hate album spoilers)

Also, regarding this cover, the typography strikes me as very 90’s and not in a good way — though thankfully for the Crows this could be appropriate — but I really love the picture.
