MRTV #4 on YouTube

Since there seems to be demand for it, I finally uploaded MRTV #4 to YouTube. The reason I haven’t been keeping up with it is that it requires an extra annoying step to create the movie file. Vimeo takes our 16:9 video with no problems. YouTube still only accepts 4:3 material despite the growing trend towards 16:9. This means that when I upload our 16:9 MPEG to YouTube it stretches it to fit the 4:3 frame. This means I have to export and re-compress a special letterboxed version just for YouTube.

The good news is that YouTube is now accepting (and recommending) uploads at 640x480 resolution. Perhaps they are planning on increasing the display resolution in the future. Even if not, our video seems better for it. Episode 4 looks pretty good by YouTube standards.
